3M™ Cubitron™ II Hookit™ Disc 950U is an abrasive disc designed for high performance in body-in-white applications. It is powered by fast-cutting, durable 3M Precision-Shaped Grain in a super-open-coat construction that resists loading. The E-weight paper backing is specifically designed for metal sanding.
3M™ Cubitron™ II Hookit™ Paper Disc 950U is the ideal solution for removing paint, coatings and mill scale from galvanized steel, aluminum, fiberglass and other loading-sensitive substrates. 950U discs have an open-coat construction that reduces loading and clogging – without the use of stearates, to reduce the risk of finish contamination. These discs feature 3M Precision Shaped Grain that forms into triangular points that cut through metal instead of gouging or plowing like traditional abrasives. These points continuously sharpen themselves as they break, providing extremely fast action. 3M offers a complete line of Hookit discs for work environments where adhesive-backed discs can become contaminated with dust or dirt. Hookit discs tend to leave a finer finish than adhesive-backed discs, and are often used in applications where a 3M™ Stikit™ disc may be too aggressive. Hookit discs easily attach to a hook-and-loop backing pad (sold separately). They are easy to remove and can be reused for the life of the abrasive.
